MA DESIGN STUDIO | MANLY PROJECT | FEB – MAY 2026

01
The brief was to transform the ground floor of a three-storey residence in Manly into a boutique Airbnb. The client's vision was to create an experiential "journey" for guests, ensuring every space felt intentional and unique.
The Challenge: Achieving a highly distinct, luxury aesthetic within a compact footprint and strict budget constraints, while specifying finishes robust enough to withstand the rigorous durability demands of a high-turnover commercial rental.
SCOPE OF WORK:
- Supported the delivery of this project from initial documentation through to site coordination.
- Utilised AutoCAD and SketchUp to draft comprehensive, construction-ready drawing packages (layout plans and detailed joinery elevations) to ensure seamless builder workflow and operational rigor.
- Maintained meticulous file management to keep all project documentation organized and accessible.

The "journey" concept was brought to life by assigning a distinct emotional identity to each zone. The kitchen was designed as a light-filled, energetic space for daytime use, giving way to a moody, relaxed atmosphere within the lounge. Finally, the bedroom and bathroom transition into a funky, expressive aesthetic.
